Monteverde Innova TI Numbered Edition Rollerball Pen
Monteverde was established in 1999 in California. The name goes back a bit further, to when founder Jerry Greenberg learned the Italian translation of his surname - Monteverde. The Innova was their first signature pen collection, which made it the clear choice to bring back for their 20th anniversary in 2019.
This edition of the Innova features a carbon fibre body set in an acrylic resin. Real carbon fibre has a beautiful depth to it that just isn't replicated in the carbon fibre pattern you see on many products - catching the light in different directions, with a distinctive checkerboard pattern. While the carbon fibre keeps the weight lower than it would otherwise be, metal parts in the ends mean this isn't a very lightweight pen - it still has a reassuring bit of weight to it. Twist-action retract mechanism; takes widely-available 'Parker-style' refills.
The special anniversary package includes the pen in a nicely patterned gift box, a pin and a little anniversary booklet. Each pen is engraved with a limited edition number from the 1,999 produced, on the end of the barrel.
